Security Compass Buying Devici For Expanding Threat Modeling Capabilities

By Amit Chowdhry • Jun 7, 2025

Security Compass announced the acquisition of Devici, a threat modeling solution created for modern security teams. This strategic deal enhances Security Compass’s portfolio, complementing its flagship platform, SD Elements, and enhancing its mission to integrate secure development practices from the start of software development.

Launched by renowned application security expert Chris Romeo, Devici is reshaping how teams approach threat modeling—making it accessible, actionable, and integrated across the software development lifecycle. And Romeo, who will join Security Compass as Vice President, brings 25+ years of experience in security and is recognized for his work in building security champion programs and advancing threat modeling best practices.

The addition of Devici highlights Security Compass’ continued investment in building comprehensive, developer-centric security solutions and builds on last year’s acquisition of Kontra, an application security training product. And with SD Elements offering automated security requirements and compliance workflows, and Devici enabling intuitive diagrammatic threat modeling, organizations can now integrate secure design earlier and more effectively than ever before.
