SEI announced the appointment of Nathan Shetty as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective June 1, 2026. In this role, Shetty will lead the company’s global investment organization and help drive the evolution of SEI’s asset management strategy, focusing on scalable and customized investment solutions for institutional and wealth management clients.
Shetty joins SEI with more than two decades of experience managing global multi-asset investment businesses. He most recently served as Senior Managing Director and Head of Multi-Asset at Nuveen Asset Management, where he led the design and management of a broad range of global multi-asset strategies and solutions across multiple investment vehicles. He also served on Nuveen’s Global Investment Committee.
Before joining Nuveen, Shetty was Global Co-Head of Portfolio Management for Investment Solutions at UBS Global Asset Management, overseeing approximately $110 billion in multi-asset, multi-manager, and outcome-oriented investment solutions. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership positions at Mesirow Financial, Mountain Pacific Group, and Pareto Partners, and began his professional journey at IBM Global Services.
As CIO, Shetty will oversee the continued development of SEI’s investment platform across research, portfolio management, operations, and strategic partnerships. His responsibilities will include helping to strengthen the firm’s differentiated and risk-aware investment offerings while supporting long-term client objectives.
SEI’s Head of Asset Management, Michael Lane, emphasized that the appointment reflects the company’s commitment to evolving its investment platform and delivering investment capabilities aligned with changing client needs. Lane noted that Shetty’s experience leading global multi-asset organizations and developing customized investment solutions across asset classes and portfolio structures will help advance SEI’s long-term strategy and broaden the capabilities available to clients.
SEI manages, advises, or administers approximately $1.9 trillion in assets as of March 31, 2026, and provides financial technology, operations, and asset management services to organizations across the financial services industry.
