Sekai announced it has raised $26 million in funding to accelerate the growth of its social platform that enables users to create, play, and remix AI-generated mini-apps. The funding round was led by Khosla Ventures and Connect Ventures, with participation from Creative Artists Agency, New Enterprise Associates (NEA), a16z Speedrun, Mayfield, A*, MVP Ventures, 359 Capital, Parable VC, and 645 Ventures.

Founded around the idea that creation should be as easy as describing an idea, Sekai allows users to generate playable and shareable mini-apps in seconds using natural language. Users can then remix creations from others, creating a collaborative ecosystem centered on interactive experiences rather than traditional content consumption.

The company describes its platform as a social network where the feed is driven by creation. Users build experiences, share them with others, and continuously iterate on ideas through remixing and collaboration.

Sekai highlighted the rapid growth of its platform, noting that users have created more than 15 million mini-apps to date, with approximately 200,000 new mini-apps being generated every day. The company also said users spend more than an hour per day on average building, playing, and remixing experiences on the platform.

One example cited by the company involved a 20-year-old creator in Los Angeles who built a personality quiz tied to the Coachella music festival lineup. The mini-app attracted 50,000 players over a single weekend, illustrating the speed at which creators can develop and distribute interactive experiences on the platform.

The new funding will support Sekai’s mission of serving what it calls the “vibe coding” generation, a growing group of users who leverage AI tools to create software, games, and interactive applications without traditional programming expertise.
