Semify announced a significant expansion of its global digital marketing footprint with the acquisition of Hong Kong–based Dragon Metrics, a leading international SEO, AI, and PPC reporting software platform. The deal adds multinational reporting capabilities, deep non-Google search support, and a seasoned international product leadership team to Semify’s white-label digital marketing software platform.
Founded in 2011 by Simon Lesser and Richard Mabey, Dragon Metrics is widely regarded as a premier SEO platform for international markets. Along with tracking for Google and AI search platforms, the company provides comprehensive measurement coverage for major non-Google ecosystems across China, Korea, and Japan. Dragon Metrics currently supports customers in more than 50 countries, including global agencies and multinational brands.
Semify said the acquisition will strengthen its rapidly expanding AI Optimization offerings and provide resellers with more powerful measurement tools. As part of the transaction, Dragon Metrics Co-founder and CEO Simon Lesser will join Semify as Chief Product Officer, overseeing global AI optimization product strategy. The Dragon Metrics engineering team will be integrated into Semify’s engineering organization led by CTO Brian Sappey.
Semify’s partners will gain immediate access to enhanced reporting capabilities through Dragon Metrics accounts, with full integration into Semify’s software platform to follow. The combined technology stack is expected to reduce the need for multiple SEO tools by consolidating reporting, keyword research, and content editing into a single unified system.
Dragon Metrics will continue operating as a standalone brand, with additional engineering resources and limited white-label fulfillment services available only to agency customers approved under the Semify Reseller model.
The deal comes at a time when search marketing is evolving rapidly toward AI-driven experiences. Semify has been an early developer of AIO (AI Optimization) methodologies, while Dragon Metrics already offers AI Overview tracking and international measurement expertise. The combined platforms are expected to accelerate global AIO deployment for enterprise agencies and resellers.
