SenseNet, a leader in ultra-early wildfire detection, prediction, and management, announced it has raised $14 million in Series A funding to accelerate its U.S. expansion. The round was led by Stormbreaker, with participation from Thin Line Capital, Fusion Fund, Plaza Ventures, FOLD36 Capital, and B Current Impact Investment. The company’s total funding now exceeds $15 million.
SenseNet’s breakthrough wildfire intelligence platform integrates gas sensors, AI-enabled cameras, and satellite data to detect wildfires before they become visible — often within three minutes of ignition. Its network currently protects more than 130 million acres of wildlands across North and South America, as well as Southeast Asia. The new investment will support the company’s expansion in the U.S., the world’s largest market for wildfire prevention, including new installations and office openings.
Traditional wildfire detection still depends on outdated and manual systems — such as lookout towers, patrols, and delayed 911 calls — that often identify fires too late to prevent large-scale damage. By contrast, SenseNet’s connected sensor ecosystem detects fire-specific gases during the smoldering phase, long before smoke appears. Its AI cameras, capable of 24/7 monitoring with 360° coverage and a 50-mile range, automatically verify visual anomalies, while satellite and weather integrations enhance situational awareness.
All data streams feed into a single AI-powered incident management platform that issues verified alerts, maps fire perimeters, and forecasts spread up to seven days in advance. This approach enables emergency responders to act faster, minimize false alarms, and make data-driven decisions during critical early moments.
The company’s technology is already in use across Canada, the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Chile, and other fire-prone regions, supported by more than 100 global partnerships. Its installations are providing governments, insurers, and energy companies with the tools to reduce both the human and financial toll of wildfires.
SenseNet’s leadership emphasized that the Series A funding will advance its mission to create the world’s most comprehensive wildfire intelligence network — one capable of protecting ecosystems, communities, and infrastructure before fires escalate beyond control.
KEY QUOTES:
“SenseNet has developed a best-in-class solution to protect communities from the devastating impact of wildfires. Their combination of advanced sensing, simulation, and mitigation technologies represents a step-change in how we safeguard people and infrastructure.”
Shane Wall, Partner at Fusion Fund; Former CTO of HP and White House Technology Advisor
“We’ve been fortunate to collaborate with SenseNet throughout the testing and validation phases of their system. Today, their technology provides Vernon’s responders, emergency managers, and support staff with real-time visual coverage of much of the city’s wildland interface. Beyond the clear benefits of early fire detection and notification, we’re leveraging the system to enhance situational awareness, anticipate operational needs, and model potential fire growth during incidents. I’m continually impressed by the SenseNet team’s rapid pace of learning and innovation.”
David Lind, Fire Chief, City of Vernon, B.C.
“This funding allows us to continue building the most comprehensive wildfire intelligence network in the world. With wildfires intensifying across the globe, our mission is clear: detect and help to stop fires before they become catastrophic.”
Hamed Noori, Founder and CEO of SenseNet
“Stormbreaker is thrilled to partner with SenseNet, a company that perfectly aligns with our thesis that technology for the connected ecosystem is the bedrock of innovation more broadly. Our high conviction in SenseNet stems from the company’s ability to reduce the enormous cost of fighting wildfires for governments and for insurers the prohibitive costs of recovery to a fraction of that through an intelligent investment in prevention. I can’t imagine many people would not prefer that to dealing with the devastating aftermath of the destruction wildfires can bring.”
Wade Oosterman, Partner at Stormbreaker
“Wildfires are a serious problem, and they are getting worse — putting property and lives at risk. Thin Line Capital looks to back companies using data analytics to help address problems like this, and we were extremely interested to discover SenseNet’s approach to wildfire detection, and the success that they’ve already achieved in eliminating wildfire risk for their customers.”
Aaron Fyke, Founder and Managing Partner, Thin Line Capital
