Senstar To Buy 3D LiDAR Maker Blickfeld For €10.4 Million

By Amit Chowdhry • Dec 14, 2025

Senstar Technologies, a provider of perimeter intrusion detection, video management, analytics, and access control systems, said its wholly owned subsidiary has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Blickfeld GmbH, a developer of 3D LiDAR sensors with integrated software used in security and industrial applications.

The deal is valued at €10.4 million in cash, with up to €1 million in performance-based earnouts. And it is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

Senstar said the acquisition is intended to deepen its intelligent security portfolio by adding Blickfeld’s semiconductor-based LiDAR hardware and software capabilities to Senstar’s existing perimeter security and detection ecosystem. The company positions Blickfeld as an established strategic partner whose technology, including its high-precision 3D security LiDAR sensor product QbProtect, complements Senstar’s AI-powered MultiSensor platform. Senstar expects the combination to broaden its addressable market and strengthen situational awareness offerings that can be deployed across a broader range of environments.

The company also highlighted commercial synergies tied to go-to-market execution. Senstar said leveraging both companies’ existing global sales forces is expected to speed adoption of Blickfeld’s LiDAR security monitoring technology and help drive penetration in a segment it characterized as growing at over 20%, without needing to build new sales channels. Senstar also said the transaction supports vertical integration goals that could improve cost controls, enhance systems performance, and shorten innovation timelines.

Beyond perimeter security, Senstar said the combined portfolio will expand into additional use cases, including volume and traffic monitoring, as well as the protection of critical points within non-critical infrastructure sites, such as transport facilities, museums, and cultural institutions. The company framed this as a meaningful expansion beyond its core markets, with opportunities across transportation and industrial verticals globally.

Following the closing, Senstar said the two organizations will work closely together but operate largely independently, with Blickfeld’s CEO and co-founder, Dr. Mathias Müller, remaining in place to lead the existing team. Senstar added that Blickfeld GmbH and its subsidiary Blickfeld North America Inc. will continue operating under their current names as Senstar subsidiaries. Senstar noted Blickfeld has received more than €60 million in technology investments since inception and has set a strategic goal of reaching EBITDA breakeven on more than €6 million in revenue for 2026.

Senstar said the acquisition will be fully funded with cash from its $21.7 million balance of cash and cash equivalents and short-term bank deposits as of September 30, 2025.
