Sesh—a fan engagement ecosystem that connects people with their favorite artists through interactive experiences, exclusive content, and live events—announced today that it has raised $7 million to date. The company was led by Miura Global, with participation from angel investors in the music/tech industry.

Along with the new funding round, the company is launching its Member Card, enabling fans to register and seamlessly download a digital pass to their phone’s wallet, becoming an official part of their favorite artist’s community. And for the first time, artists can send direct push notifications to their fans, going beyond the access streaming platforms and social media channels provide. Artists could direct audiences to a new music release, exclusive merch drop, VIP event invite or presale tickets directly within the ecosystem.

Sesh was created on the belief that superfans are the key to sustained success in the music industry. Traditional social media platforms often create barriers between artists and their most engaged audience, limiting direct communication and access to data.

Using Sesh, artists get unprecedented access and a direct line to their fans. They also have full ownership of essential data, including email, location, name, date of birth, and engagement insights, enabling creators to own and cultivate their audience relationships without depending on third-party platforms.

By providing tools for direct engagement, including integrations with Spotify and TikTok, Sesh helps artists grow and strengthen their fan communities.

Sesh was created by Pepe del Rio, Iñigo-Hubertus Bunzl Pelayo, and María José Guzman, combining their appreciation for the music industry with their experience in finance, technology, and artist management. And together, they saw firsthand the issues in the music industry that prevent emerging, independent, and label-signed artists from facing when engaging with and effectively monetizing their audiences.

The company already works with over 250 artists such as Yeri Mua, Anitta, Alleh & Yorghaki, Mau y Ricky, Lasso, Timø, Nathy Peluso, Zoe Gotusso, and more, with a combined 750+ million streams on Spotify, 1 billion followers on social media, and 44 Grammys last year alone.

What Sesh will do with the funding: With these new funds, Sesh aims to expand its platform capabilities, onboard more artists, and enhance its technology to provide deeper insights and engagement opportunities.

KEY QUOTE:

“There’s such a huge gap in the artists that are able to make a living in the music industry and the talented people who are forced to treat it like a hobby because they can’t effectively monetize their audience. All you need is a few hundred fans who are actually engaged to pursue music as a career, and our mission at Sesh is to allow as many artists as possible to make a career out of doing what they love.”
