Settle has launched a public API and Model Context Protocol server that lets businesses and AI agents connect directly to its procurement, payables, payments, and working capital platform.
The new tools are designed to move Settle toward what it describes as agentic procure-to-pay, where AI systems can handle workflows across purchase orders, supplier payments, cash forecasting, and related systems with less manual intervention.
Settle primarily serves consumer packaged goods and other inventory-based businesses. These companies often operate across a fragmented technology stack that includes Shopify, enterprise resource planning systems, accounting software, inventory platforms, third-party logistics software, and spreadsheets.
The API and MCP server are intended to make Settle’s data and functionality available across that broader environment. Finance and operations teams can connect payables information to internal software and data warehouses, while AI assistants such as Claude can use Settle data alongside other enterprise systems.
Potential applications include automated reconciliation, cash forecasting, custom dashboards, supplier payment analysis, and natural-language questions about upcoming obligations. Early customers are already building AI agents and internal workflows on top of the new interfaces.
Settle plans to continue expanding the actions agents can take across procurement, accounts payable, and working capital.
The company’s broader platform includes procurement, bill payment, accounts payable automation, and flexible working capital financing. Settle said it has processed more than $8 billion in payments and originated more than $4 billion in financing for customers.
The company is backed by investors including Ribbit Capital, Kleiner Perkins, Caffeinated Capital, Stripes, Founders Fund, SciFi Ventures, Citi Ventures, and Activant Capital.
The API and MCP launch positions Settle to become an infrastructure layer for AI-driven finance workflows as product businesses increasingly seek systems that can communicate and act across multiple applications without requiring employees to manually transfer information between them.
KEY QUOTE:
“We built Settle’s API and MCP server so a brand’s AI can work alongside our platform and their other systems, not around them. This is the foundation for agentic procure-to-pay: software that keeps purchasing, payables, and cash flow moving on its own, with our team behind it.”
