Shepherd Wealth appointed Thomas Martin as Director of Defined Contribution to lead the firm’s newly established Defined Contribution department.
The department will support business owners and employees with corporate-sponsored retirement plans.
Shepherd Wealth said the new group builds on its existing retirement plan capabilities while creating dedicated expertise around defined contribution planning.
The firm’s approach is intended to connect retirement planning with broader tax and legacy considerations for business owners and high-net-worth clients.
Martin brings more than 30 years of financial services experience.
He has held roles at John Hancock, Mutual of America, The Standard, and Empower, formerly Great-West.
His background includes working with financial advisors serving business owners and helping those advisors expand their 401(k) and retirement plan practices.
Martin will also support Shepherd Wealth’s broader Advanced Planning approach and work with advisors on retirement, tax, and financial planning strategies for business owners and employees.
Shepherd Wealth serves self-employed individuals, business owners, and high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, with an emphasis on tax-efficient planning, wealth accumulation, income planning, and intergenerational wealth.
