Shift4 has completed its previously announced acquisition of the North American subsidiaries of Worldline, significantly expanding its merchant base and strengthening its integrated payments ecosystem.
The transaction includes the acquisition of Bambora Inc, Bambora Holding Corp, Bambora Corp, and Worldline SMB US, Inc., which together operate as Bambora North America. The acquired platform supports more than 140,000 merchants across the United States and Canada and is integrated with over 500 independent software vendors (ISVs).
With the acquisition complete, these merchants will gain access to Shift4’s end to end payments and commerce solutions. The company expects the integration to create substantial cross sell opportunities across its suite of products.
Shift4 said the deal expands its presence across several key verticals in North America while bringing additional gateway payment volume onto its platform. The company also noted that the strategy follows its established approach of migrating merchants onto its ecosystem to provide a more streamlined commerce and payments experience.
The acquisition is part of Shift4’s broader strategy to expand its integrated commerce technology platform, which powers payment and business experiences for companies ranging from small local businesses to major venues and enterprise operators worldwide.
