Shift5 has been awarded a U.S. Army indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with a $99 million ceiling for commercial offerings, giving the Army a multiyear vehicle to procure capabilities from the Arlington, Virginia-based company.
Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, awarded the firm-fixed-price IDIQ contract under contract W9128Z-26-D-A020.
Under the agreement, the Army will establish specific work locations and funding amounts as it issues individual orders. The overall ordering period is expected to continue through September 30, 2031.
The $99 million figure represents the maximum potential value available under the IDIQ contract, not an amount being obligated immediately. IDIQ structures allow government agencies to place individual orders for products or services as requirements develop, subject to the contract’s overall terms and ceiling.
The Army competitively solicited bids online and received nine offers, ultimately selecting Shift5 for the contract.
Shift5 develops technology focused on operational technology environments and data generated by complex physical systems. Its platform helps organizations collect, monitor, analyze, and protect data from onboard systems and other operational assets, with applications across defense, transportation, and critical infrastructure.
The company’s technology focuses on cybersecurity, predictive maintenance, observability, and operational intelligence for fleets and platforms that may rely on legacy or specialized onboard systems. These capabilities can be relevant in defense environments where operators need greater visibility into the condition, performance, and security of complex assets.
The latest Army contract creates a procurement framework through which the Army can order specific Shift5 commercial offerings over the coming years. Individual task or delivery orders will determine the particular capabilities purchased, where the work will take place, and how much funding will be committed.
Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is the contracting activity, and the contract is estimated to be completed on September 30, 2031.
