WWEX Group and Auctane have completed their merger, creating ShipStation Global, a new logistics company that combines freight, parcel, and shipping technology services into a single platform. Backed by Thoma Bravo, with CVC Funds and other WWEX Group investors retaining a significant minority stake, the combined company aims to provide small and mid-sized businesses with enterprise-level logistics capabilities powered by artificial intelligence.
The merger brings together WWEX Group’s freight brokerage platform and network of more than 2,300 sales professionals with Auctane’s portfolio of shipping technology solutions, including ShipStation, Stamps.com, Metapack, and Packlink. The combined business is designed to offer customers integrated access to freight brokerage, parcel shipping, automation tools, carrier connectivity, and supply chain management capabilities through a unified platform.
According to the company, ShipStation Global serves more than 3 million customers and facilitates over 3 billion shipments annually. Its network includes more than 75 less-than-truckload carriers, 350 regional, national, and international carriers, 600 technology partners, and 45,000 truckload carriers. The platform connects parcel, LTL, truckload, and international shipping services through a single system.
The company said the merger comes at a time when supply chains are becoming increasingly complex, and AI is reshaping logistics operations. ShipStation Global intends to help small and mid-sized businesses access advanced technology, automation, data insights, and logistics expertise that have traditionally been available primarily to large enterprises.
ShipStation Global’s portfolio includes ShipStation, Stamps.com, Metapack, Packlink, Worldwide Express, GlobalTranz, Unishippers, JEAR Logistics, and BLX Logistics. The company will be headquartered in Texas with offices in Dallas and Austin.
