Shipt named Raj Kapoor as its next CEO, bringing the company’s former Chief Operating Officer back to lead the same-day delivery technology business. Kapoor previously served as Shipt’s COO from 2022 through 2025.
During that period, he helped scale Shipt’s fulfillment capabilities and led day-to-day operations supporting customers, shoppers, drivers, and retail partners.
Kapoor has experience across digital commerce, retail, and technology.
Since leaving Shipt in 2025, he has served as Senior Vice President of Marketplace at Target.
At Target, Kapoor led initiatives focused on profitable growth, assortment expansion, and customer and partner experiences across Target Plus.
He previously held executive positions at Lyft and SquareTrade.
Kapoor succeeds Kamau Witherspoon, who has served as Shipt CEO for more than four years.
During Witherspoon’s tenure, Shipt expanded its same-day and next-day delivery offerings.
The company also integrated the Shipt marketplace into the Target Circle 360 loyalty program and invested in capabilities including Preferred Shopper.
Kapoor will now lead Shipt’s next phase as the company continues developing its retail technology and delivery platform.
