Signal Hill Equity Partners has announced a strategic investment in Kluber Architects + Engineers, an established architecture and engineering firm based in Aurora, Illinois. This partnership marks a significant step in Signal Hill’s ongoing effort to build a robust, national platform focused on delivering architecture, engineering, and design services across key social infrastructure sectors.
Kluber, founded in 1988, has earned a reputation for its integrated and values-driven approach to design. The firm serves a diverse client base across government, education, healthcare, and private sectors, offering tailored solutions that reflect deep community engagement and technical expertise. Its leadership team—Michael Kluber, Don Ware, Chris Hansen, Rachel Whelan, Clayton Haldeman, and Jeff Bruns—will remain in place and continue to guide the company’s growth and operations following the transaction.
This investment brings Kluber into a growing network of AEC firms under the Signal Hill umbrella, joining CSArch and ZMM Architects. CSArch is known for its work in the education sector, while ZMM primarily serves municipal and educational clients. Together, the three firms now represent a combined team of more than 160 professionals operating out of nine offices across the Northeastern and Midwestern United States. The expanded platform is positioned to deliver comprehensive services to clients across various sectors, including education, public safety, healthcare, and other essential areas.
