Signal Labs, a Chicago-based enterprise software company backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, has acquired BrassRing, a long-standing enterprise talent acquisition platform serving Fortune 500 clients across high-volume, regulated, and global hiring operations. Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition combines BrassRing’s 25 years of hiring outcome data, spanning 172 countries and 42 languages, with Signal Labs’ SignalOS, an operating system the company describes as the infrastructure for enterprise attention.
BrassRing handles applicant tracking, hiring workflows, and onboarding for large enterprises and will continue operating as a standalone product for existing and new customers following the acquisition. Signal Labs is layering its SignalOS platform on top of BrassRing as a coordinating intelligence layer — one that reads historical hiring outcome data to surface forward-looking signals: which open roles are most likely to stall, which candidates resemble past hires who went on to be promoted, and which internal employees match the profile of future leaders. The underlying data source is BrassRing’s longitudinal record of what happened after each hire — who stayed, who advanced, and who eventually left — which Signal Labs treats as a training dataset for predicting talent risk and outcomes in real time.
Signal Labs is positioning the combined platform around a concept it calls Systems of Attention — a category it defines as a fourth layer of enterprise software, sitting above systems of record, systems of engagement, and systems of intelligence, and focused on routing the right signals to the right decision-makers in time to act. The company frames its broader mission around the convergence of human and AI workforces, describing a near-term future in which enterprises run two concurrent cost structures — one paid in salaries, one paid in AI tokens — and arguing that leaders currently lack a unified view of both. Signal Labs is positioning SignalOS as the platform where that unified view becomes visible.
KEY QUOTES:
“BrassRing has 25 years of hiring outcomes across 172 countries and 42 languages, and Signal Labs surfaces the signals that inform critical decisions. We can tell a leader which five roles are most likely to fail this quarter, and which people already inside the building look like their next generation of leaders. That is the Future of Work we are helping enterprises build toward. People still make the decisions. What reaches them better informs and arrives in time to matter.”
Rajeev Ronanki, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Signal Labs
“For 25 years, our customers built the record that matters most, attracting and retaining top-tier talent. Signal Labs reads those outcomes as signals a leader can act on in the moment, inside the platform teams already know. Now we can see and act on talent risk and outcomes proactively.”
Ryan Jackson, Head of Product Management, BrassRing
