Silverfort: Interview With Director Of Product Management Ido Halevi About The Identity Security Company

By Amit Chowdhry • Jan 10, 2026

Silverfort is a company that focuses on identity security, protecting the identities (human and non-human) that access systems, both on-premises and in the cloud. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Silverfort’s Director of Product Management, Ido Halevi, to gain a deeper understanding of the company.

Ido Halevi’s Role

Ido Halevi is Director of Product Management at Silverfort, where he brings a deep background in AI infrastructure, automation, and identity security to lead the development of real-time, identity-first security for AI agents. Ido’s primary responsibilities involve guiding cross-functional teams, shaping access control and analysis solutions and ensuring that new features and initiatives align with Silverfort’s strategic goals.

Before joining Silverfort, Ido built expertise in product leadership through various roles at leading technology companies, including Intel, Datagen, Melio, and Logz.io. These experiences provided a foundation in managing diverse product teams and delivering innovative solutions across different domains, equipping Ido with the perspective and skills essential to their current position at Silverfort.

Core Products

What are the company’s core products and features? Halevi explained:

“Silverfort delivers a comprehensive identity security platform designed to protect every dimension of identity—both human and non-human—across cloud and on-premises environments. The Silverfort Platform goes far beyond traditional IAM, providing discovery, governance, and run-time enforcement of identity security controls.”

“Silverfort’s platform is built on its core, proprietary ‘Runtime Access Protection’ technology, which sits behind a company’s identity infrastructure (i.e., Active Directory, modern cloud IDPs, etc.). This RAP technology inspects every authentication request in real time without deploying agents on endpoints or servers. This enables inline security controls for real-time prevention rather than just detection, making it highly differentiated in the market.”

“Key product and service offerings include: capabilities that help uncover all identities (human or machine, AI or privileged, etc.) across an organization, context into authentication requests across all environments to make intelligent decisions about risk and posture management, real-time enforcement controls that stop lateral movement in the moment, and the ability to retrofit legacy systems with modern MFA controls.”

“Silverfort’s product offerings, such as Authentication Firewall, Universal MFA, Non-Human Identity (NHI) Security, Privileged Access Security, Access Intelligence, ITDR (Identity Threat Detection and response), and ISPM (Identity Security Posture Management), are all accessible via a single dashboard. They integrate seamlessly with identity infrastructure and SIEM/SOC operations.”

“As organizations accelerate adoption of AI, Silverfort’s AI Agent Security product is focused on discovering, governing, and protecting AI agents—those software entities acting autonomously or on behalf of users—by treating them as first-class identities. Unlike legacy providers, Silverfort connects AI agent activities directly to the human actors behind them, enforces identity-based controls in real time, and delivers actionable governance even for autonomous, rapidly evolving AI environments. Key enabling elements include:

— Map Ownership, Permissions & Activity – A storyline graph links each agent to owners, users, policies, and touched data, exposing over-privilege and orphaned access.

— Risk-Prioritized Remediation – Heuristics score agents by privilege, data sensitivity, and external exposure so teams fix what matters most, first.

— In line security controls – Dynamically grants access between AI agents and MCP servers, restricting over-privileged access.

— Auto-Discover Every Agent – Read-only connectors to IdPs, clouds, and SaaS apps surface every agent on Day 0 with zero manual effort.”

“The Silverfort Platform delivers an unmatched ROI in terms of TTV and security outcomes. It prevents AI agent misuse, privilege escalation, and data leakage by strictly enforcing what actions agents may perform and recording every interaction for auditability. It also eliminates access blind spots for AI agents, supporting compliance efforts, regulatory requirements, and accelerated AI innovation without sacrificing security.”

Evolution Of The Identity Security Platform

How has Silverfort’s Identity Security platform evolved? How are you updating the platform to secure some of the industry’s biggest threats such as AI Agents?  Halevi noted:

“Silverfort envisions a future where every identity—including AI Agents— is treated as a first-class identity—fully visible, ownership-mapped, and protected by inline, least-privilege controls.  Just as Silverfort protects authentication protocols like NTLM and OpenID Connect, it now protects MCP, too. Silverfort’s model ties every agent action to a real human owner, enforces least privilege, and logs an immutable audit trail.”

“By auto-discovering sanctioned or shadow agents, right-sizing over-broad permissions, inspecting every tool call for prompt hijacking or cross-tenant abuse, and anchoring every action to a verified human owner, Silverfort unifies identity and security into a single fabric that keeps sensitive data compliant and businesses ahead of AI-driven threats—so organizations can accelerate innovation without accelerating risk.”

Shifting In Identity Security

How do you see the identity security industry shifting? What threats should today’s organizations be prepared for?  Halevi pointed out:

“Identity security is entering the AI era. Copilots and autonomous agents now touch production workflows and sensitive data—often before security teams are ready—widening the blast radius. Overnight, every employee looks like R&D as teams iterate with copilots and agents—data flows to external LLMs, unvetted plugins call internal APIs, and attribution blurs when software acts for a human. And, the threats follow: prompt injection that turns agents into exfiltration tools, model-driven BEC and deepfake-assisted fraud, and alert volume that buries the audit trails defenders need.”

“Identity needs to become an important AI guardrail.  Bind every agent to a first-class identity, require explicit, delegated, action bound and least privilege scopes, analyze usage continuously, and adopt emerging standards that enable cross vendor signal sharing and real time enforcement across applications.  Do this, and organizations reduce risk while actually unlocking AI’s productivity gains.”

Significant Milestones

What have been some of Silverfort’s most significant milestones? Halevi cited:

“Silverfort has more than 1,000 customers, including multiple Fortune 500 organizations, and experienced 100% year-over-year growth, achieving tens of millions in ARR.  It continues to maintain near-perfect retention rates, demonstrating both customer satisfaction and sustained value delivery. Since its founding in 2016, Silverfort has emerged as the definitive solution provider in identity security. It has not only responded to today’s challenges but also reshaped the way people protect identity.”

“Aiming to take PAM where it has never gone before, Silverfort entered the $4B Privileged Access Management (PAM) market not with yet another PAM solution, but instead introducing its Privileged Access Security (PAS) solution. More than just management, PAS protects administrative and service accounts with unified policies, eliminating the need for manual configuration or agents at a speed unmatched in the industry.”

“In November of 2024, Silverfort acquired Rezonate, a leading innovator in identity-first security for cloud environments, to expand Silverfort’s identity security capabilities to the cloud. With the addition of Rezonate, Silverfort extends its reach deeper into cloud applications, workloads and infrastructure, with a broad set of capabilities, including Non-Human Identity (NHI) security, Identity Threat Detection and Response (ITDR), Identity Security Posture Management (ISPM), Entitlement Management and more—paving the way for a more secure future and giving organizations one platform to secure all their identities.”

“Most recently, Silverfort has expanded its capabilities with its Silverfort MCP Server to enable secure, intelligent, and scalable identity integration with existing AI systems. Silverfort is one of the first identity security companies to introduce a specialized MCP Server to provide a direct and secure conduit for AI agents to interact with Silverfort’s core capabilities.”

Customer Success Stories

When asking Halevi about customer success stories, he highlighted:

“Many of Silverfort’s customers point to the way the Silverfort Platform addresses challenges that no other solution could solve. For example, Tom Parker, Kayak’s VP of IT and CISO, shared that ‘there were no solutions that were as comprehensive as Silverfort, particularly handling our critical applications that use LDAP and the protection of our service accounts, some of which are privileged.’”

“The global travel metasearch engine that hosts tens of thousands of customers’ personal data was able to use Silverfort’s Identity Security Platform to “put real-time protection on service accounts by enforcing policies that block any access that deviates from normal behavior. Because of this, even if attackers were able to compromise the credentials of service accounts, they would not be able to use them for malicious access.”

Future Company Goals

What are some of the company’s future goals? Halevi emphasized:

“Silverfort designed its identity security platform with three key design principles in mind.

  1. It must offer powerful protection yet won’t disrupt users or business. This includes quick and easy deployments and low ongoing maintenance—otherwise, deployments would languish.
  2. It must protect every type of identity—human, machine, AI, and beyond—while providing cross-platform context and visibility for a single source of truth for all environments across the cloud and on-prem.
  3. It must help shift the security paradigm from reactive to proactive, finding a way to secure identities inline and in real time, offering preempt enforcement controls that stop lateral movement in the moment—not after the fact.

With identity security as the company’s sole focus and mission, Silverfort found a way to deliver end-to-end identity security—securing every dimension of identity, including legacy systems that have gone unprotected for decades. Silverfort protects every type of identity while not disrupting day-to-day business operations. The platform can boost operational efficiencies and become a single source of truth for identity and resources.”

Additional Thoughts

Any other topics you would like to discuss? Halevi concluded:

“With cybersecurity rapidly evolving, Silverfort is focused on ensuring organizations can move beyond patchwork point solutions to a single, integrated approach that enables real-time protection, reduces risk, and improves operational efficiency. Silverfort is committed to helping organizations tackle today’s and tomorrow’s identity threats, from service accounts to AI agents, with the innovation and simplicity security leaders increasingly demand.”
