Simplicity Group has acquired Whitney and Associates and affiliated Altitude Capital Management RIA, expanding its presence in Des Moines and adding a platform serving independent financial advisors across insurance, wealth management, and marketing.
The transaction also brings Mitchell Whitney and Charles Johnson into Simplicity as Partners. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Whitney and Associates is an independent marketing organization providing annuity, life insurance and wealth management solutions to financial advisors.
The firm’s platform also includes proprietary digital lead-generation technology, marketing programs and operational support, while Altitude Capital Management provides wealth and investment management capabilities.
Simplicity plans to combine those capabilities with its national scale, technology and Simplicity Securities platform.
The transaction is intended to provide dual-licensed advisors with broader wealth management infrastructure while giving Whitney’s advisor network access to additional products, services and operational resources.
The deal continues Simplicity’s expansion strategy across financial planning, wealth accumulation and protection products.
