Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has added derivatives lawyer Netanya Clixby as a partner in its European Finance and Capital Markets group, based in the firm’s London office. Clixby joins from Sidley Austin.

Clixby advises on the structuring and negotiation of derivatives and other trading documentation, including securities lending and prime brokerage agreements, as well as related regulatory advice. Her practice also covers structured products, including repurchase agreements and significant risk transfer transactions. She advises clients across a range of asset classes on matters spanning the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States, with a particular focus on finance-linked hedging and risk management solutions for private credit and sponsor clients.

The hire continues Simpson Thacher’s build-out of its finance and capital markets capabilities. Over the past two years, the firm has added securitization and structured products partner Rick Hanson, leveraged finance partners Dan Peach, Bryan Robson, and Will Gwyn, and fund finance partner Katie McMenamin, following the 2024 addition of Hadrien Servais to lead the firm’s European Private Credit team.

Clixby is recognized in industry rankings including Legal 500, where clients described her as well-versed in the substance and technical details of her work. Simpson Thacher’s European Finance and Capital Markets group advises private equity sponsors, investment banks, credit funds, and alternative capital providers, while the firm’s Derivatives Practice, recognized as an industry leader by Chambers Global and IFLR1000, counsels financial institutions, corporations, hedge funds, private equity funds, mutual funds, insurance companies, sovereigns, and high net worth individuals.
