Boomerang Ventures announced that it has led a $2 million Seed Round in SiteLabs, with a $1 million investment to support the company’s expansion of its platform, which transforms independent pharmacies into neighborhood hubs for preventive screenings and clinical research. SiteLabs is part of the Boomerang Ventures portfolio and is focused on delivering community-based access to care through pharmacies that already serve as trusted points of patient interaction.
The Seed Round includes follow-on participation from the Labcorp Venture Fund and SC Launch, Inc., reflecting confidence in the SiteLabs model to scale preventive care and clinical trial access in communities across the country. The investment will enable SiteLabs to expand its turnkey platform, which allows pharmacies to offer affordable diagnostics, connect patients with clinical research opportunities, and strengthen their businesses while improving health outcomes in underserved areas.
SiteLabs is built on the experience of its leadership in global community health, where pharmacies often serve as the first point of contact for preventive care. In the United States, many individuals lack a primary care provider or face barriers, such as cost or travel distance, that limit their access to routine screenings. Physician shortages and an increase in chronic disease further widen this gap. At the same time, independent pharmacies face financial strain due to reduced reimbursement, and health systems and life science companies struggle to engage diverse and at-risk patient populations.
SiteLabs addresses these challenges by equipping pharmacies with screening technology, streamlined workflows for identifying clinical trial candidates, and integrated partnerships that align incentives across stakeholders. This approach creates new patient engagement channels, supports pharmacy revenue, and expands access to health services.
The market opportunity is significant, as more than 60,000 community pharmacies reach nearly 90% of Americans within a five-mile radius of their homes. Early pilots with six pharmacies completed over 6,300 preventive screenings in a short period of time and demonstrated improved ability to recruit patients into research programs while reaching historically underrepresented groups.
With the new capital, SiteLabs plans to scale from pilot sites to hundreds of pharmacies in the next 12 to 18 months. Key areas of expansion include integrations with major pharmacy management systems, partnerships with healthcare payers and clinical research sponsors, and continued refinement of its economic model to drive sustainable value for pharmacies, patients, and healthcare partners.
SiteLabs is headquartered near Clemson, South Carolina, and brings together expertise across pharmacy, healthcare, technology, and marketing to support independent pharmacies as accessible points of care, driven by prevention and research. Boomerang Ventures, founded in 2019 and based in Indianapolis, focuses on early-stage growth companies in connected health technology through a combined venture studio and investment fund model.
