SK Group and NVIDIA announced plans for a $500-billion-plus comprehensive partnership to build AI infrastructure serving surging global compute demand. The two companies signed letters of intent formalizing an agreement that spans AI factory construction and AI memory supply.
Under the partnership, SK Telecom will build a 2-gigawatt AI Cloud in Korea using the NVIDIA DSX platform, deploying NVIDIA Vera Rubin accelerated computing powered by SK hynix HBM4 memory, with the first AI factory planned to come online in 2027. The facility will be built on NVIDIA’s DSX full-stack AI factory architecture, which integrates accelerated computing, systems, software, and partner technologies to deliver what NVIDIA describes as the lowest token cost at maximum energy efficiency. The companies said the collaboration builds on their decades-long technology partnership and aims to accelerate large-scale AI infrastructure development, including sovereign, physical, agentic, and enterprise AI services, across the Asia-Pacific region.
Separately, SK hynix is entering a long-term AI memory partnership with NVIDIA as a follow-up to their previous technical collaboration. The agreement allows NVIDIA to secure a stable supply of next-generation AI memory while enabling SK hynix to expand its growth foundation, with the two companies planning to codevelop and optimize next-generation AI memory solutions, including HBM, to meet demands ranging from large language model training to agentic and physical AI.
