Skadden has added Sophie J. Lamb KC as a partner in its International Litigation and Arbitration Group in London, a move the firm said will deepen its capabilities across cross-border arbitrations, investment treaty disputes, and complex commercial litigation.
Lamb brings more than 25 years of experience appearing before international tribunals and courts, including advocacy in major arbitrations and high-stakes litigation matters. Skadden said her client base has included boards of public companies, sovereign states, private equity firms, and large corporates across sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, and financial services.
Her practice spans corporate and commercial disputes, international investment law, public law, and climate litigation, and she has been involved in prominent class actions and parent company responsibility cases. Skadden highlighted her experience working across major arbitration regimes, including UNCITRAL, LCIA, ICC, ICSID, HKIAC, SIAC, AAA ICDR, and Swiss Rules, as well as her leadership and institutional roles in the disputes market.
The firm also pointed to Lamb’s directory recognition, including a Band 1 ranking in International Arbitration in the UK and recognition as a Hall of Fame practitioner in the UK. Skadden positioned the hire as part of continued investment in its London disputes bench, noting that its London international disputes team includes three King’s Counsel actively engaged in arbitration advocacy.
Lamb said she is joining Skadden to work with colleagues across the firm’s global platform and support clients navigating complex international disputes.
