Skyfora announced that it has raised €6.5 million in funding to accelerate the growth of its atmospheric data platform and expand the commercial deployment of its weather intelligence products.
The round included investments from Eviny Ventures, Ugly Duckling Ventures, LUMO Labs, and the European Innovation Council Fund, along with non-dilutive support from Business Finland.
The company said the new capital will support the rollout of its real-time data products and API, deepen partnerships with telecom operators, meteorological institutions, and forecasting providers, and expand its team.
Skyfora has developed technology that utilizes Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers already embedded within existing mobile network infrastructure. By leveraging equipment installed in cell towers and base stations, the company transforms telecommunications assets into real-time atmospheric sensors capable of generating continuous, high-resolution weather data.
According to Skyfora, the resulting data streams are designed to support next-generation AI weather models and improve short-term forecasting capabilities. The company believes enhanced weather intelligence can benefit a range of industries that are highly sensitive to weather conditions, including energy, transportation, aviation, and civil protection.
The company said improved forecasting capabilities are becoming increasingly important as industries seek to optimize operations, reduce risks, and respond more effectively to changing weather patterns.
Skyfora is currently building active deployments across Europe, the United States, Africa, and the Middle East as it works to expand the reach of its platform and increase the amount of atmospheric data available to forecasting providers and weather-dependent industries.
The company believes that access to higher-quality data is fundamental to improving weather predictions and enabling more informed decision-making across sectors.
