SkyVisor – a leading innovator of automatic drone-based inspection and asset management software for renewables – announced it has raised €1.2 million in a funding round backed by Tomcat, the French public investment bank BPIfrance, Région Île-de-France, and industry leading investors. This investment will drive SkyVisor’s international expansion, accelerate product development, and strengthen its wind and solar market role.

With this funding round, SkyVisor is set to strengthen its position in key markets across Europe, North America, and beyond. This funding round also brings Claire Audin and Elie du Pré de Saint Maur as advisors to the SkyVisor board.

Claire offers expertise in renewable energy investments and strategic development from executive roles at top sustainability firms and over 13 years advising on infrastructure, B2B, M&A, and regulatory challenges, offering valuable insights for the company’s growth.

Elie, a partner and co-founder of Tomcat, has over 20 years of experience in marketing and strategy across the B2B, B2B2C, SaaS, and Fintech industries. And he has held key roles as Chief Marketing Officer at Doctolib and Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer at Edenred Group, joining SkyVisor with invaluable insights into scaling technology solutions for international markets.

SkyVisor, founded by Paul Fontaine and Fabien Sauvage — two passionate engineers with extensive experience in software, drones and telecom industries — was established in 2018 to bring wind and solar park inspections in-house. And the company founder and CEO Paul Fontaine’s background is in electrical engineering and computer science, with a particular focus on drone design, cloud development, and big data management.

Fabien Sauvage, SkyVisor’s co-founder, has 20+ years of experience in software engineering and embedded systems. And he has held key positions at companies like Motorola Mobility and founded his own company before joining SkyVisor as co-founder and CTO. Together, they set out to transform drone inspection technology for the wind and solar industries, expanding their focus to in-house advanced asset management solutions. Since then, the company has grown significantly, inspecting over 10 GW of wind and solar assets, completing 8,000 individual inspections yearly, and detecting over 200,000 wind and solar defects yearly.

SkyVisor emphasizes in-housing and managing key aspects such as automatic flight, digitalization, and AI-based defect analysis. And this strategic focus ensures greater control over quality and faster adaptability to evolving industry needs.

Based in Paris, France, the current SkyVisor team comprises 15 dedicated professionals with diverse backgrounds. Their collective expertise enables SkyVisor to provide top-notch service and support to clients, empowering Independent Power Producers (IPPs), Independent Service Providers (ISPs), EPCs (Engineering, Procurement & Construction Companies), and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to achieve faster, more efficient, and more accurate in-house inspections.
