- Snap has hired Peter Naylor as its first vice-president for the Americas. These are the details.
Snap Inc (NYSE: SNAP) has hired Peter Naylor as its first vice-president for the Americas. Naylor previously worked as senior vice-president of advertising sales at Hulu.
Naylor will be starting the role in May. Upon joining the company, Naylor will be responsible for growing Snap’s ad business in the US, Canada, and Mexico. Naylor will be reporting to Snap’s chief business officer Jeremi Gorman. Naylor’s role at Snap is crucial as the camera app company depends mostly on advertising sales as its business model.
“As we continue to scale our advertising business across all geographies, we expect to build out teams in different verticals to support our rapidly growing ad business,” said Gorman in a call with investors recently via The Drum. “This includes building a global partners team to work with our largest global advertisers to create seamless global planning, hiring more sales operations experts to continue to improve operational rigor in our sales teams and pipeline planning, and generally mature the ways our sales organization operates as we scale over the coming years.”
According to Naylor’s LinkedIn profile, he previously worked as the EVP of Digital Ad Sales at NBCUniversal (2006-2013), SVP of Digital Media Sales at iVillage (2002-2006), and VP of Ad Sales at Lycos (1996-2002).
The ad sales team at Hulu will now report to Rita Ferro, president of advertising sales and partnerships at the Walt Disney Company.
Snap’s VP US Advertiser Solutions Luke Kallis and VP Emerging Advertising Solutions Dominic Rioux will report to Naylor. And GM for Canada Matt McGowan will be moved to Naylor’s team. VP Global Agency Partnerships David Roter will keep reporting to Gorman along with VP International Claire Valoti.
