Snap unveiled its new SPECS augmented reality glasses at Augmented World Expo 2026, marking the company’s latest push into wearable computing and opening pre-orders ahead of a planned fall launch.

The standalone glasses are designed to integrate digital information into the user’s surroundings and are powered by dual Snapdragon processors, offering AI-assisted experiences, spatial computing capabilities, and support for hundreds of developer-created applications.

SPECS are available for pre-order at a price of $2,195, with customers required to place a refundable $200 deposit. The glasses are expected to begin shipping this fall in the United States, the United Kingdom, and France.

The device comes in two sizes: 132 grams for the 47 mm model and 136 grams for the 52 mm model. Constructed from Swiss TR90 polymer, SPECS supports prescription inserts and features electrochromic lenses that transition from clear to tinted in approximately 10 seconds.

Snap said the glasses use proprietary liquid-crystal-on-silicon technology to provide a 51-degree field of view and support 16 million colors. According to the company, the display experience is comparable to a 24-inch desktop monitor or a 115-inch home theater screen positioned about 10 feet away.

SPECS are powered by two Snapdragon processors, with one dedicated to computer vision and the other handling Lens applications. The system delivers 7-millisecond motion-to-photon latency and provides up to four hours of mixed-use battery life. An accompanying charging case offers four additional charges, extending total usage to approximately 20 hours.

Snap said developers have already created hundreds of Lenses for SPECS. The company also introduced new development tools, including agentic development support in Lens Studio through developer previews in Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor, along with a new Native Development Kit, Migration Agent, and SPECS Spatial Benchmark.

Snap said it has invested more than a decade in augmented reality technologies and has accumulated more than 7,000 patents related to SPECS development.

The company is also launching a global marketing campaign photographed by Steven Meisel and featuring Jimmy Butler, Imogen Heap, Hoyeon, Jack Harlow, and Kaia Gerber.
