Snap has introduced SPECS Intelligence, an anticipatory AI service designed to understand users’ goals, routines and priorities and proactively surface information and actions across iPhone, Mac and the company’s SPECS augmented reality glasses.
Rather than waiting for users to issue individual prompts, SPECS Intelligence is designed to recognize when assistance may be useful and bring forward relevant information automatically.
For example, before a meeting the service could surface decisions that need to be made, questions to ask and information to remember.
Ahead of a trip, it could combine flight, hotel and restaurant reservations while identifying a work deadline that overlaps with the travel schedule.
The system builds personal context from applications and services that users choose to connect and carries that context across devices.
Snap is also introducing Corners, which organize different areas of a user’s life, such as work and family, and Goals for tracking longer-term priorities.
When used with SPECS glasses, that context can extend into the physical environment, allowing information such as travel details, schedules and reminders to appear in a user’s field of view.
Snap said connected personal content will not be used to train or fine-tune its AI models or to serve personalized advertising. The platform combines on-device processing with secure cloud infrastructure.
Invitation-only early access is planned through the SPECS Mac application, while a preview is available to U.S. users age 18 and older through the iOS SPECS app.
