Softwear Automation: $20 Million Series B1 Raised For Autonomous Sewing Technology

By Amit Chowdhry • Aug 12, 2025

Softwear Automation, a pioneer in autonomous sewing technology, has successfully closed a $20 million Series B1 funding round. This is a significant milestone in the company’s mission to revolutionize the manufacturing of sewn goods. A strategic investment led the funding round from BESTSELLER, the Danish fashion company known for popular brands like JACK & JONES, VERO MODA, and ONLY.

The investment was made through Invest FWD, BESTSELLER’s platform dedicated to advancing sustainability in the fashion industry. The round also saw participation from existing investors, including CTW Venture Partners, SRI Capital, and MacDonald Ventures.

This partnership is more than just a financial investment; it is a collaborative effort. As part of this alliance, Thomas Børglum Jensen, CFO of BESTSELLER, will join the board of Softwear Automation. This comes at a time when Softwear Automation is making rapid progress toward commercializing its fully automated SEWBOT worklines.

Softwear Automation’s patented SEWBOT technology offers a fully autonomous sewing solution. This technology enables sewn products to be manufactured closer to the end consumer, resulting in significantly reduced waste, faster cycle times, and superior cost efficiency. The new capital from this funding round will be used to accelerate the company’s expansion into new product categories and geographies. It will also be used to deepen its research and development capabilities and scale its production to meet growing global demand.

For BESTSELLER, this partnership supports its broader efforts to improve its supply chain model by reducing environmental impact and increasing transparency. By leveraging SEWBOT technology, Softwear Automation and BESTSELLER are aiming to enable more circular and demand-driven production practices. With this strategic alliance and fresh funding, Softwear Automation is well-positioned to lead the next era of apparel manufacturing, where fashion is faster, more sustainable, and produced closer to home.

KEY QUOTES:

“This partnership with BESTSELLER and the support from Invest FWD are not just a vote of confidence in our technology — they are a powerful catalyst for the future of on-demand, localized, and more sustainable apparel manufacturing.”
