Sole Source Capital has appointed Claire Bissot as Chief Human Resources Officer, creating a new executive role focused on talent, leadership and organizational effectiveness across the private equity firm and its portfolio companies.
Bissot will join SSC’s executive leadership team and work with the firm’s investment and operations professionals as well as portfolio company management teams.
Her responsibilities will include strategic hiring, organizational design, leadership development, succession planning, employee retention and workforce planning.
Bissot will also bring a human capital perspective to M&A diligence and integration, allowing SSC to evaluate organizational strengths and risks as part of its investment process.
She brings more than 20 years of human capital experience and joins Sole Source Capital from Kainos Capital, where she served as Managing Director.
Earlier in her career, Bissot spent more than a decade with CBIZ and held several leadership positions, including Managing Director of its HR Outsourcing business.
She holds an MBA from Virginia Tech and a BBA from the University of Georgia and is a Senior Professional in Human Resources.
The appointment also expands the SSC Way, the firm’s integrated approach to operational improvement and M&A throughout the investment lifecycle.
Sole Source Capital plans to use dedicated human capital expertise to assess leadership, skilled labor, management depth and organizational capacity earlier in investments and incorporate those considerations into portfolio company value-creation plans.
The firm believes those capabilities can become particularly important in industrial and business services companies as businesses scale through organic growth and acquisitions.
Sole Source Capital was founded in 2016 and focuses on industrial and business services sectors, particularly fragmented markets where it can partner with founder-led businesses and pursue consolidation strategies.
