Solomon Partners, a New York-based investment banking and financial advisory firm, has appointed Jorge Mora as Vice Chairman, adding a senior executive with more than 30 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, and corporate advisory. Mora will focus on business origination, developing relationships with financial sponsors, and expanding the firm’s connections with private equity investors and corporate executives.
In his new role, Mora will work closely with Marc Cooper, Chairman and CEO of Solomon Partners, and the firm’s industry and product group leaders to advance its strategic priorities and support long-term growth.
His appointment strengthens Solomon Partners’ ability to develop relationships across the private equity community while identifying opportunities for collaboration among its industry-focused investment banking teams.
Mora most recently served as Co-Managing Partner at Jacmel Partners, where he will continue serving as Vice Chairman of Infrastructure.
His previous experience includes senior leadership positions at Macquarie Group and Lazard Frères & Co., where he led financial sponsor coverage practices.
Earlier in his career, he served as a Managing Director at UBS Investment Bank and The Exxel Group, having begun his investment banking career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
His experience across investment banking, private equity, and corporate advisory provides a combination of institutional relationships and transaction expertise that Solomon Partners intends to leverage as it expands its financial sponsor coverage.
Throughout his career, Mora has worked with private equity investors and corporate leadership teams, developing relationships across the investment management and business communities.
At Solomon Partners, he will focus on strengthening those relationships while identifying opportunities involving the firm’s investment banking and financial advisory capabilities.
The appointment supports the firm’s strategy of combining senior-level client engagement with specialized industry expertise.
Solomon Partners provides advisory services across mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, and capital solutions, working with businesses, investors, and financial sponsors across multiple sectors.
Its industry coverage includes business services, consumer retail, distribution, financial institutions, financial technology, grocery, pharmacy and restaurants, healthcare, industrials, infrastructure, power and renewables, media and entertainment, professional services, and technology.
Mora’s role will involve working across these industry groups to identify potential business opportunities and expand the firm’s relationships with private equity sponsors.
His experience leading financial sponsor coverage at major investment banks will also support Solomon Partners’ efforts to deepen its engagement with investors pursuing acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions.
As Vice Chairman, Mora will contribute to the firm’s business development activities while collaborating with its existing leadership team on strategic initiatives.
His continued involvement with Jacmel Partners as Vice Chairman of Infrastructure will maintain an additional connection to the private investment industry.
Mora holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami.
