Soluna Holdings has elected Dan Golding to its Board of Directors after nearly three years of advising the company on renewable-powered AI infrastructure. Golding was elected at Soluna’s 2026 annual meeting of stockholders held on October 16 and has served on the company’s Advisory Board since November 2023.
Golding brings more than 30 years of experience in data centers and digital infrastructure, including leadership roles at Google and Iron Mountain. He currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at ASG, formerly known as Appleby Strategy Group. At Google, he led advanced engineering and data center innovation.
Soluna first brought Golding onto its Advisory Board as it began developing plans for purpose-built, renewable-energy-powered AI facilities. His appointment adds engineering and operating experience as the company moves from planning and strategy into developing large-scale AI computing infrastructure.
The company develops green data centers for compute-intensive applications, including artificial intelligence and Bitcoin mining. Its strategy is centered on locating computing facilities alongside renewable power plants that can use surplus electricity that might otherwise be curtailed or underutilized.
Soluna said Golding’s background will be particularly relevant as the company makes decisions about customer requirements, site design, power architecture, and the operational demands of AI workloads. The company is also developing its MaestroOS software platform as part of an effort to make its computing infrastructure more efficient and responsive to power availability.
Moving Golding from an advisory position to a board seat formalizes a relationship that began in 2023. Soluna expects his data-center engineering background to remain particularly relevant as it develops renewable-powered infrastructure intended for increasingly demanding AI computing workloads.
KEY QUOTES:
“Dan already knows Soluna so well. He has worked with us as we’ve developed our AI strategy and has helped us think through what customers need and what it takes to deliver. He brings a builder’s perspective to the Board and is someone who understands the technical demands of large-scale data centers and the decisions behind them. We’re pleased to have him take on this broader role.”
John Belizaire, CEO Of Soluna
“I’ve enjoyed working with John and the team as an advisor, and I’m pleased to join the Board. Soluna is approaching AI infrastructure from the power side, which is where many of the industry’s hardest problems begin. I look forward to helping the team make decisions that turn that approach into facilities customers can use.”
