Sona: $45 Million Raised For AI Platform Powering Frontline Business Operations

By Amit Chowdhry ● Apr 1, 2026

Sona, an AI platform focused on frontline and real economy businesses, has raised $45 million in a Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to more than $100 million. The round was led by N47, with participation from Felicis, Northzone, Gradient, and Italian Founders Fund. The new capital will support Sona’s expansion in the United States and accelerate the rollout of its AI-driven platform capabilities.

Sona is building an end-to-end system designed to replace fragmented legacy tools used across industries such as hospitality, retail, healthcare, and logistics. Its platform integrates scheduling, human resources, payroll, compliance, and business intelligence into a unified system powered by AI.

The company’s core offering combines forecasting and workforce scheduling with a broader labor AI platform. This system uses real-time and historical data, including bookings, revenue, weather patterns, and operational variables, to model staffing needs and optimize business performance. By continuously adapting these models, Sona enables organizations to predict demand, improve operational efficiency, and reduce reliance on traditional time-and-motion studies.

Sona’s platform is already being used by businesses such as Popeyes and Tao Group to better align staffing with demand, ensuring that the right employees are scheduled at the right times. The result is improved customer experience, increased sales, and significant labor cost savings.

In addition to its core infrastructure, Sona recently launched Forge, an enterprise AI application builder that allows organizations to create custom software tailored to their specific operational needs. These applications are automatically integrated with the company’s existing data systems and analytics tools, enabling businesses to combine standardized solutions with bespoke functionality.

Sona positions itself as the operational foundation for frontline enterprises, aiming to replace outdated software systems with a flexible, AI-native platform. The company is headquartered in London and is expanding its presence in New York as it scales globally.

KEY QUOTES:

“Every other enterprise software category has been transformed by AI, but the tools managing the world’s largest workforce are still fundamentally the same systems that were built 20 years ago. We had a ten-year plan. AI made it a one-year plan. The old SaaS model delivered one-size-fits-all applications that companies had to adapt to. The next generation delivers the infrastructure and agentic layer organisations build on, giving them the power to create the exact software their business needs. That’s what Sona is becoming for the frontline economy.”

Steffen Wulff Petersen, Co-Founder And CEO, Sona

“In a global market supporting billions of workers, AI represents a unique opportunity to uproot entrenched, outdated frontline tools and usher in a new way of operating for the real economy. Sona has built the leading, end-to-end AI-native product for workforce management, with best-in-class capabilities that enable it to become the operational foundation these organizations run on. We’re extremely excited to partner with Steffen, Ben, and Oli in leading this round as Sona continues its journey to global category leadership.”
