Sonablate Forms Strategic Alliance With Eleven Ventures To Facilitate Up To $200 Million In Equity Financing

Sonablate has entered into a strategic alliance with Eleven Ventures, an investment platform founded by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud, to accelerate the global commercialization and adoption of its AI-powered therapeutic ultrasound technologies.

Under the agreement, Eleven Ventures will serve as Sonablate’s strategic capital partner in the Middle East and plans to facilitate up to $200 million in equity financing from regional sovereign wealth funds and private investment institutions, subject to customary processes and approvals.

The alliance also calls for Sonablate equipment to potentially begin deploying internationally as early as the fourth quarter of 2026.

Charlotte, North Carolina-based Sonablate develops intelligent, image-guided therapeutic ultrasound technologies designed to support non-invasive precision medicine.

The company’s technology portfolio includes high-intensity focused ultrasound, or HIFU, low-intensity focused ultrasound, low-output focused ultrasound, Sonatherm and SonaTripsy.

Sonablate said these technologies are intended to form a broader therapeutic ecosystem supporting future AI-assisted and image-guided treatments across multiple clinical applications.

The company’s first commercial application is prostate tissue ablation, but Sonablate is also developing technologies for potential future applications in oncology, neuromodulation, cardiovascular disease, women’s health and other therapeutic areas.

Sonablate’s HIFU system is FDA-cleared in the U.S. for prostate tissue ablation, and the company said its technology has received regulatory approvals in more than 50 countries.

The alliance with Eleven Ventures extends beyond capital formation.

The companies plan to explore broader commercialization opportunities throughout the Middle East and North Africa, potential regional assembly and manufacturing operations in Saudi Arabia and the establishment of a regional headquarters serving Gulf Cooperation Council markets.

The agreement also covers the exploration of future joint ventures in Saudi Arabia, support for clinical research across emerging therapeutic applications, regulatory and market access initiatives and public awareness efforts surrounding AI-powered non-invasive ultrasound technologies.

Prince Abdulaziz is also expected to provide strategic leadership around Sonablate’s international expansion through the Global Strategic Partnership Committee, supporting government engagement, capital formation, strategic partnerships and market development.

The announcement follows research from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust examining the long-term effectiveness of focal therapies for localized prostate cancer.

According to Sonablate, its technology was used in all HIFU procedures included in the study, which represented 85% of the total dataset, while the remaining 15% involved cryotherapy.

Sonablate said the research adds to the growing body of evidence supporting non-invasive treatment approaches and could support broader adoption of focused ultrasound technology.

The company believes its scientific heritage, intellectual property portfolio and international regulatory approvals position it to expand therapeutic ultrasound into a broader precision medicine platform.

For Eleven Ventures, the partnership represents an opportunity to support the international development of advanced healthcare technology while establishing a deeper presence around precision medicine in the Middle East.
