Sony Pictures Television announced it has acquired a majority interest in Alex Baskin’s production company, 32 Flavors, as the studio continues expanding its premium unscripted programming business.

Founded in 2023 by Baskin, 32 Flavors has quickly built a diversified content portfolio spanning premium unscripted programming, documentaries, true crime, podcasts, talk programming, and scripted development. The company has been involved with franchises and series including Vanderpump Rules, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, The Real Housewives of Orange County, The Valley, The Valley: Persian Style, and the Netflix podcast Shut Up Evan.

The company is also growing its slate with upcoming series including Still Flipping Out and Love Thy Nader, which 32 Flavors joined beginning with the show’s upcoming second season.

Sony Pictures Television said the acquisition aligns with its broader strategy of investing in creative talent and scalable franchise-driven intellectual property. The studio noted that the addition of 32 Flavors enhances its nonfiction and unscripted capabilities as audience demand for premium nonfiction programming continues to grow.

Alex Baskin will remain CEO of 32 Flavors, and the company’s existing leadership team will continue in their current roles following the transaction.

Sony Pictures Television’s broader unscripted portfolio includes franchises and formats such as Shark Tank, American Idol, and the 90 Day Fiancé franchise.
