Source.ag, the Amsterdam-based artificial intelligence company specializing in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), has raised $17.5 million in a Series B funding round led by Astanor. The round also saw strategic participation from seed breeder Enza Zaden and grower cooperative Harvest House, bringing the company’s total funding to more than $60 million since its founding in 2020.
The new capital will support Source.ag’s global expansion and product development as it continues building AI systems designed to help greenhouse growers increase yields, efficiency, and sustainability. The company’s technology is currently deployed across more than 300 greenhouses covering 2,500 hectares in 18 countries. These operations collectively supply fresh produce—including tomatoes, bell peppers, and cucumbers—to approximately 40 million people daily.
Source.ag’s platform functions as an “AI co-pilot,” integrating data and digitizing cultivation expertise to address the growing shortage of skilled growers and meet the rising global demand for fresh produce. Its software enables advanced yield forecasting and automates key processes, such as irrigation, improving productivity and quality across the supply chain from farm to consumer.
With the new funding, Source.ag plans to strengthen its position as a leading AI partner in agriculture by expanding its product suite and working closely with major players in the horticultural ecosystem. The continued involvement of Enza Zaden and Harvest House highlights how Source.ag’s technology is becoming a foundational tool for the fresh produce supply chain.
