Andy Schachtel’s Background
What is Andy Schachtel’s background? Schachtel said:
“I started my career in traditional media production. After spending time in Japan, where I worked as a presenter on Japanese television, I became increasingly interested in the production side of the industry. I eventually founded a company that produced high-end commercials for leading Japanese advertising agencies like Dentsu and Hakuhodo, serving major clients such as Sony, Toyota, and Coca-Cola Japan.
“While the business was fascinating, it wasn’t easily scalable and was highly sensitive to geopolitical disruptions. During that time, I also built several other businesses, including an online short video platform — before the days of YouTube and online advertising — and early mobile destination sites as mobile data services were just emerging.
“These experiences eventually led to a major project for Vodafone: building the world’s first international ‘mobile-first’ social networking platform. With limited resources, I turned to outsourcing for development support, and after some early challenges, found success working with talented developers in the Philippines. Alongside the platform itself, we built global content moderation and customer service teams to support the application across 15 countries, ensuring high compliance and strong user engagement.
“The success of that project demonstrated the enormous potential of utilizing global talent to help founders do more for less when building new businesses, and ultimately inspired the founding of Sourcefit — an outsourcing company dedicated to helping companies scale more efficiently by leveraging high-quality offshore and nearshore teams.”
Formation of the Company
How did the idea for the company come together? Schachtel shared:
“The idea for Sourcefit came together the first time I outsourced a developer. We had a great project we wanted to launch, but we simply couldn’t find the right talent locally. Through outsourcing, we were able to hire a senior developer and two junior developers for the cost of a single local hire — and that’s assuming we could have found someone at all. Without that option, the project would never have gotten off the ground. It was a pivotal moment that opened my eyes to the power of outsourcing as a business tool — not just for cutting costs, but for enabling growth, innovation, and access to the talent needed to move faster and achieve more.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Schachtel reflected:
“It’s hard to pinpoint a single moment, because entrepreneurship is filled with highs and lows — just like any profession — but the emotional intensity is very real. What stands out most to me is the realization that, as an entrepreneur, you are writing your own narrative. Rather than letting circumstances outside your control define your reality, you have the opportunity to create it yourself. That ability to shape your own path is incredibly powerful, and I believe it’s one of the foundations of self-actualization and fulfillment. Being able to build something meaningful — not just for myself, but for our employees and clients — has been the most rewarding part of the journey.”

What are the company’s core products and features? Schachtel explained:
“At Sourcefit, we provide flexible offshore and nearshore staffing and business process outsourcing solutions. Our services include Employer of Record (EOR) support, staff augmentation, and fully managed business functions like customer service and accounting. We also help clients optimize operations through AI-driven tools and our cloud-based platform, Knit, which simplifies tech stacks and brings together data from across different systems. Our goal is to make it easier and more cost-effective for organizations to grow and operate at scale.”
Challenges Faced
What challenges have Schachtel and the team faced in building the company? Schachtel acknowledged:
“Outsourcing tends to be highly resilient to global economic shifts, as companies across virtually every industry continue to prioritize cost savings and operational efficiency — especially during downturns. That said, the most significant challenges we’re currently facing are driven by the rise of AI and growing geopolitical instability.
“AI has already begun disrupting traditional business processes, and many routine or repetitive functions that are typically outsourced — such as customer support, bookkeeping, and data management — are particularly vulnerable to automation. We’ve addressed this challenge proactively by building AI-powered tools and investing in staff training, enabling our teams to leverage new technologies, work more efficiently, and deliver greater value to our clients.
“Another major challenge is geopolitical uncertainty and an emerging pushback against globalization, which has caused some clients and prospects to reconsider or scale back their expansion plans. If the global community turns away from sustainable development and international cooperation, it will be vulnerable workers and economies — like those where our operational centers are located — that suffer the most, as history has shown during periods of turmoil and upheaval.”
Evolution of the Company’s Technology
How has the company’s technology evolved since its launch? Schachtel noted:
“As I mentioned above, we originally started as a development company, building a social networking application for Vodafone. In 2016, we created our own HRIS system to manage timekeeping, scheduling, and leave tracking. But even then, it was clear we needed more than just an HRIS.
“With over 200 clients — each with teams performing very different work — and more than 2,000 employees, the majority of whom work remotely, we recognized the need to build deeper connections across our organization. We needed a way to help remote employees feel truly part of a team, to foster stronger engagement, and to unify everyone around a shared purpose.
“That understanding led us to develop Knit, our proprietary platform designed to go far beyond attendance tracking. We set out to create a solution that integrated engagement tools, gamification, collaboration features, and a social component — bringing everyone together under one ‘digital tent’ rather than relying on disconnected systems.
“Beyond creating a stronger sense of community, consolidating operations onto a single platform allowed us to gather and analyze data more effectively, giving us deeper insights into our teams and processes. With the rapid evolution of AI, having all our core operations within Knit has also enabled us to apply AI in smarter ways — empowering our teams, uncovering new efficiencies, and driving better decision-making.”
“Today, we’ve not only transformed the way we manage our own organization, but we’re also able to offer Knit to our clients — helping them build stronger, more connected, and more future-ready businesses.”

What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Schachtel cited:
“Some of our most significant milestones include opening our first international office in the Dominican Republic in 2023, surpassing 2,000 employees in 2024, and launching our proprietary Knit platform that same year.
“Each of these achievements reflects a major evolution in our company’s journey — expanding our global footprint, scaling our operations to meet growing client demand, and investing in technology that empowers both our teams and our clients. These milestones represent not just growth, but a deepening of our mission to build stronger, more connected, and future-ready organizations around the world.”
Customer Success Stories
When asking Schachtel about customer success stories, he highlighted:
“One of our early and most impactful success stories was our work with Vodafone Global, helping them build one of the world’s first mobile-oriented social networks, called Self Central, across more than 15 markets worldwide.
“We were engaged not only to build the application, but also to manage all content moderation and customer support — an enormous challenge given the complexity and scale of the project. At the time, no existing tools could meet Vodafone’s requirements, so we developed our own custom content moderation platform. We created a numerical grading system for content, built automated workflows tailored to the content standards of each country, and launched a comprehensive moderator training and well-being program.
“The results were exceptional. We achieved over 99% compliance with content standards, moderated more than 10 million content items annually, and maintained customer satisfaction rates above 90%, with zero escalations of inappropriate content. Vodafone was new to user-generated content at the time, yet with our support, they were able to create a safe, engaging online environment that exceeded their expectations and became one of their most successful service initiatives.
“This project remains a strong example of our ability to innovate under pressure, tailor complex solutions for global clients, and help brands confidently navigate new digital frontiers.”

When asking Schachtel about funding and revenue metrics, he revealed:
“While we don’t publicly disclose detailed revenue figures, I can share that we’ve experienced strong and consistent growth, averaging a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 32% over the past three years. For the current fiscal year, we are on track to significantly accelerate that growth and surpass US$50 million in revenue. We’re excited about the momentum we’ve built and the opportunities ahead as we continue to scale and innovate.”

What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Schachtel assessed:
“Sourcefit operates within the broader global outsourcing market, which is expected to be valued at over $1 trillion by 2030. In addition to traditional outsourcing, we also serve the Employer of Record (EOR) segment — a rapidly growing market expected to reach around $8–10 billion by 2028, driven by the rise of remote and distributed workforces. Together, these sectors represent a substantial and expanding total addressable market, offering significant opportunities for growth as companies increasingly seek flexible, efficient, and global staffing solutions.”

What differentiates the company from its competition? Schachtel affirmed:
“For a company of our size, we offer unusually deep technology expertise and platform-based solutions that rival those of much larger firms. We are comparable to many of the industry’s biggest players in terms of experience, qualifications, and global standards — holding certifications such as ISO, PCI DSS, and SOC 2. But where we truly differentiate is in our agility. We are able to create highly customized solutions and adapt quickly to each client’s unique operational, technological, and business needs. This balance between world-class capabilities and flexible, personalized service has been a major driver of our success.”

“Our future goals are centered around helping clients not just adapt to change, but thrive as technology and the nature of work are transformed more radically than ever before. We are focused on continuously enhancing our platform, Knit, with AI-driven capabilities that simplify operations, strengthen team engagement, and unlock new efficiencies. We also plan to expand our presence in key offshore and nearshore markets, while deepening our ability to deliver tailored, flexible solutions that address the unique challenges of a rapidly evolving global workforce. Our mission is to be the trusted partner organizations turn to as they navigate this new era of work.”
