Southerland Communities has acquired The Reserve at St. Charles Bay, a waterfront residential community in Rockport, Texas, from McCombs Enterprises. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The community was established in 2008 by McCombs Enterprises and is located next to Goose Island State Park on the Lamar Peninsula along the Texas Coastal Bend.
Every home in the development is waterfront, and most properties include backyard docks offering access to the Aransas Bay system.
Approximately 120 privately owned homes have already been constructed at The Reserve. Existing amenities include a 500-foot fishing pier, resort-style pool, parks, protected wetlands, and more than two miles of waterfront boardwalks.
The community covers approximately 130 acres, with roughly half of the property still available for future residential development.
Southerland plans additional investment in the property, including new canals, waterfront homesites, and amenities as it continues development of the community.
