Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits announced the successful completion of its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Clare Rose Inc., a move that expands the company’s footprint in Long Island, New York, and advances its total beverage growth strategy.
Effective immediately, the acquired business will operate as Southern Glazer’s Beverage Company of New York, serving Nassau and Suffolk counties. The transaction strengthens Southern Glazer’s distribution capabilities in the region while adding Clare Rose’s established customer relationships and operational infrastructure.
As part of the acquisition, Southern Glazer’s gains the opportunity to distribute a broad portfolio of beverage brands currently sold throughout Long Island. The portfolio includes Anheuser-Busch products such as Michelob ULTRA, Busch Light, Budweiser, and Bud Light, along with hard beverage brands including Cutwater Spirits, NÜTRL Vodka Seltzer, and BeatBox Beverages. The distribution portfolio also includes Phorm Energy, products from Tilray Brands, Pabst Brewing Company, and a range of additional supplier brands.
The company said it will continue operating from Clare Rose’s existing facility in Yaphank, Long Island, and will immediately begin distributing supplier products throughout the territory.
Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is one of the largest beverage alcohol distributors in the world, operating in 47 U.S. markets and Canada. The family-owned company also maintains brokerage operations through its Travel Retail Sales & Export Division across the Caribbean and Central and South America.
