Sovos has acquired Flowie, combining the company’s finance and procurement AI agents with Sovos’ global tax compliance and regulatory data to create what Sovos calls its Compliant Finance Platform. Flowie develops an AI-native finance orchestration platform designed to automate business processes including accounts payable, procure-to-pay, contracts, invoicing, collections and vendor and customer onboarding.
The platform operates on top of enterprise resource planning systems and is designed to allow finance and technology teams to consolidate processes that may otherwise require multiple surrounding applications.
Following the acquisition, Flowie’s autonomous agents will be able to use Sovos’ tax compliance and regulatory data as they execute business processes, giving customers the ability to incorporate jurisdiction-specific compliance requirements directly into automated transactions.
Flowie has been recognized as a representative vendor in Gartner’s September 2025 Innovation Insight for Procurement Orchestration Platforms.
Its agents are designed to interpret finance, compliance or procurement objectives, plan the steps required and take actions without relying on traditional rules-based workflow engines.
Flowie’s finance orchestration agents include Invoice & Intake Copilot, AP Automation, AR & Collections, Supplier Onboarding, Contracts & Approvals, Expense & T&E, Financial Reconciliation, Cash Application, Treasury and Spend Analytics.
Those capabilities will operate alongside Sovos’ Sovi Agent Studio, which provides pre-built compliance agents for tasks such as goods-and-service code mapping, e-invoice error diagnosis and data reconciliation.
The companies are also launching the Sovos Graph, an underlying data layer designed to connect business processes, systems, data sources and the regulatory mandates that govern transactions.
The Sovos Graph consists of an Entity Network mapping relationships among suppliers, contractors, customers and employees; Transaction Intelligence providing a unified view of buy-side and sell-side transactions; and Content & Regulatory Knowledge containing Sovos’ tax rules, schemas, mandates and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
Sovos said its regulatory dataset is maintained by hundreds of regulatory experts working alongside its AI systems and connected directly with tax authorities.
The company cited independent industry research indicating that agentic AI can reduce costs and time required for certain finance processes. One Flowie customer reported saving 30 hours per week after replacing four separate accounts payable tools with Flowie agents.
Flowie is immediately available to Sovos customers and will operate alongside the company’s existing tax compliance platform.
Sovos processes more than 70 billion transactions annually and supports compliance across more than 150 countries. The company has more than 100,000 customers, including half of the Fortune 500.
KEY QUOTES:
“With the addition of Flowie, Sovos is delivering the industry’s first Compliant Finance Platform (CFP). Pairing our tax compliance and regulatory data with Flowie’s agents means companies can run their business processes at agentic speed and still know, transaction by transaction, that they are compliant in every country in which they operate, lowering their cost and their risk at the same time.”
Kevin Akeroyd, CEO of Sovos
“Finance and procurement teams have been forced to choose between moving fast and staying compliant. That trade-off disappears now that Flowie and Sovos are combined. Our agents already run these processes end-to-end, delivering agentic implementation for Sovos’ Compliance Network without legacy software standing in the way. Now, with Sovos’ compliance data built directly into that foundation, every action our agents take is grounded in the rules of the jurisdiction it touches, automatically, and at the scale enterprises need.”
