Sowell Management has launched its Advanced Planning Group, a new integrated estate, tax and advanced planning resource designed to help financial advisors serve high-net-worth families, wealthy individuals and small business owners with increasingly complex financial needs.
The new group will be available to advisors across both the Sowell Management and Cache River Private Wealth platforms.
Carrie Quraishi, JD, will lead the initiative as Director of Advanced Planning, while JR Quraishi will serve as Director of Tax Planning.
The Advanced Planning Group will provide advisors with specialized capabilities spanning estate planning, tax strategy, business succession planning, asset protection, wealth transfer planning and family legacy planning.
Sowell is positioning the offering as an extension of the traditional advisor relationship, allowing financial professionals to address planning issues that can become more important as clients accumulate wealth and encounter liquidity events, business transitions and multigenerational estate considerations.
Tax planning will be integrated throughout the group’s work rather than operating as a standalone service.
Under JR Quraishi’s leadership, the Advanced Planning Group will seek to identify proactive tax planning opportunities and incorporate relevant tax strategies into broader estate, succession, wealth transfer and legacy planning.
The launch also supports Sowell’s efforts to help affiliated advisors deepen client relationships and differentiate their practices through planning capabilities beyond investment management.
Those resources will be particularly important within Cache River Private Wealth, the high-net-worth division Sowell launched in April 2026.
Cache River was created to serve households with more than $5 million in net worth and is designed around a combination of financial planning, investment management and specialized wealth management expertise.
The Advanced Planning Group will give Cache River advisors additional resources for clients dealing with business sales, liquidity events, family stewardship, succession planning and long-term wealth transfer.
The initiative also reflects growing demand from affluent clients for services traditionally associated with family offices, where investment management is frequently coordinated with tax, estate, business and family governance considerations.
Sowell Management was founded by financial advisor Bill Sowell in 2001 and operates as an independent registered investment advisor supporting financial advisors nationwide.
As of June 2026, Sowell’s advisor network represented more than $6.9 billion in client assets across assets under management and assets under administration.
The Advanced Planning Group expands that platform with another centralized resource designed to help advisors handle more sophisticated client situations without requiring each practice to build those capabilities independently.
