S&P Global appointed Thomas Kim as Chief Legal Officer, effective October 19, 2026. Kim will report directly to President and CEO Martina Cheung.
He will oversee S&P Global’s Legal, Government Affairs, Risk and Compliance function.
Kim brings more than 30 years of experience across public company legal departments and private practice.
He previously served as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary at Gartner.
Kim also previously held the same roles at Thomson Reuters.
His appointment follows the previously announced retirement of S&P Global Chief Legal Officer Steve Kemps.
Kemps will remain with the company as a Special Advisor to Cheung through December 31, 2026.
The transition period is intended to support continuity across S&P Global’s legal, governance, compliance, government affairs, and risk functions.
