Specialized Packaging Group has acquired DFW Crating & Packaging, expanding the Altamont Capital Partners-backed company’s protective packaging operations into the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
DFW Crating is a Texas-based provider of custom crating and protective packaging solutions.
The acquisition gives SPG additional crating expertise, customer relationships and manufacturing capabilities as it expands its North American footprint.
DFW Crating will continue operating under its existing name from its facility in Grand Prairie, Texas.
The company will gain access to SPG’s broader infrastructure, resources and packaging capabilities while maintaining its existing customer operations.
SPG said DFW Crating’s capabilities complement its existing portfolio, including its server rack crating operations.
The transaction further develops SPG’s strategy of building a vertically integrated provider of customized protective packaging products and services.
SPG operates across the United States, Canada and Mexico and serves industries including aerospace, electronics, medical and automotive.
The company’s product and service offering is focused on protective packaging applications where customers require customized solutions for the storage and transportation of equipment and products.
SPG is a portfolio company of Altamont Capital Partners.
Altamont focuses on lower-middle-market companies across financial services, industrials and business services and currently manages more than $4 billion of capital.
