SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services across energy infrastructure and communications, announced the signing of an agreement to acquire 89% of PIK AG, a Berlin-based company specializing in audiovisual integration and maintenance.

Founded and headquartered in Berlin, PIK employs approximately 170 professionals and primarily operates in northern and eastern Germany. The company focuses on the integration and maintenance of complex audiovisual systems for conference rooms, lecture halls, and concert halls. Its service portfolio covers the full scope of audiovisual and lighting technologies, including planning, project management, installation, commissioning, service, and maintenance.

PIK serves a diverse range of clients across industries, including critical infrastructure. In the 2024 fiscal year, the company reported approximately €42 million in revenue and has maintained steady organic growth supported by a strong and loyal customer base.

Under the leadership of Niklas Niehuus, who took over the company in 2018 through a succession process, PIK has expanded significantly and strengthened its market position. Following the acquisition, the existing management team—comprising Christoph Wegner (CEO), Christian Hieckel (CFO), Daniel Gallin (CSO), and André Rechenberg (CTO)—will continue to lead the company’s operations and strategic growth within SPIE.

The acquisition of PIK AG marks a key milestone in SPIE’s strategy to enhance its expertise in audiovisual systems and strengthen its presence in Germany’s rapidly growing technology infrastructure market. SPIE emphasized that PIK’s strong technical capabilities, robust client relationships, and well-developed project pipeline complement its broader Information & Communications Services (ICS) division.

Following the completion of the transaction, SPIE will hold an 89% ownership stake in PIK AG, while the previous owner and management team will retain a 11% stake. The agreement includes put and call mechanisms related to these remaining shares. The transaction is expected to be finalized in December, pending approval by antitrust authorities.
