SPIN announced it has acquired Live For Live Music, a community-driven media and events platform focused on live music culture and the jam band scene. As part of the acquisition, Live For Live Music founder Kunj Shah will join SPIN as vice president of events, and the full Live For Live Music team will join the company.
The deal is expected to expand SPIN’s presence across live events, audience development, editorial coverage, and experiential programming, while giving Live For Live Music access to SPIN’s broader infrastructure and platform reach.
SPIN said the integration will help scale Live For Live Music’s content, audience engagement, and live programming while preserving the brand’s identity and editorial voice.
The acquisition also builds on SPIN’s growing entertainment portfolio, which includes a record label partnership with Virgin and a television and film collaboration with the producers of Yellowstone. The company said this experience will help accelerate Live For Live Music’s expansion across multiple media platforms.
Founded in 2011, Live For Live Music has developed a dedicated following among fans of live music, with particular roots in communities surrounding artists such as Grateful Dead and Phish as well as the broader improvisational and festival-driven music ecosystem.
Beyond editorial coverage, the company produces live music events and festival programming across the United States, including its long-running Fest By Nite late-night concert series held during the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
The companies said the 2026 edition of Fest By Nite will serve as the first major live event activation following the acquisition and will highlight SPIN’s broader strategy to expand its event-driven programming at major cultural moments nationwide.
