Spotnana has completed its acquisition of TROOP, a meeting-planning and group-travel logistics platform, expanding its technology for managing meetings, events, and transient corporate travel through a unified platform.
The combination is designed to bring corporate meeting and event planning together with Spotnana’s existing travel infrastructure.
Meeting and event travel can represent as much as 40% of a company’s total travel costs, according to the announcement, but spending is often distributed across different teams and can be difficult to incorporate into centrally managed corporate travel programs.
TROOP provides tools designed to simplify the logistics surrounding in-person corporate meetings.
Its platform can help organizations determine meeting locations, invite attendees to book travel, manage RSVPs, distribute event agendas, and track budgets.
Spotnana adds broader travel-booking and servicing capabilities, traveler profiles, policy management, negotiated rates, preferred-supplier management, and payments.
By combining the two platforms, corporate travel buyers can gain a unified view of spending across meetings, events, and transient business travel.
The companies also expect customers to benefit from direct travel-content integrations, travel-management tools, and integrations involving HR data, expense management, and duty-of-care systems.
TROOP can continue to be purchased as a standalone product or as part of Spotnana’s broader product suite. It will also be available through Spotnana’s network of travel-management company channel partners.
The acquisition comes as companies increasingly consolidate responsibility for meetings and transient travel under the same procurement and corporate travel organizations.
