Spott, an AI-native software platform for recruitment agencies, has raised $21 million in Series A funding led by Balderton Capital, with participation from Base10 Partners, Y Combinator, and Fortino. The financing will support international expansion, additional enterprise functionality, and the development of AI agents designed to automate recruitment workflows and identify new business opportunities.
The funding follows Spott’s $3.2 million seed round announced in March 2025. Since launching its core platform six months later, the company has grown rapidly, with revenue increasing more than tenfold since the beginning of 2026.
Spott provides an integrated operating system for recruitment agencies, replacing traditional applicant tracking and customer relationship management software with a unified platform that incorporates artificial intelligence across multiple recruiting activities.
The platform combines candidate management, search, conversations, outreach, and workflow automation. It can transform existing emails, résumés, and candidate databases into searchable information, allowing recruiters to identify relevant candidates and manage relationships without switching between multiple software applications.
Spott estimates that human judgment currently accounts for only 20% of recruiters’ work, with administrative responsibilities and candidate sourcing consuming much of the remaining time. Its technology is designed to automate repetitive activities while allowing recruiters to retain control over important decisions.
According to customer data cited by the company, Spott can help recruitment agencies increase placements and associated revenue by up to 30%. At H.W. Anderson, the platform made more than 100,000 candidate profiles and years of communications searchable, helping recruiters identify candidates and complete placements more efficiently.
The company now serves hundreds of recruitment agencies, including CGP Group, a 200-person recruitment business that has deployed Spott across 12 countries.
Spott generates approximately 20% of its revenue in Asia-Pacific and 15% in the United States, reflecting its growing international customer base. The company plans to establish offices in Sydney and New York and expand its workforce from 44 employees to approximately 60 by the end of 2026.
The new financing will also support the development of proactive AI capabilities that identify potential job openings, monitor candidate career changes, and recommend actions recruiters can take to strengthen client relationships and increase placements.
KEY QUOTES:
“Lander, Manu and Samuel understood this overlooked problem because they had seen its operational and commercial impact first-hand. They have combined that insight with the technical ambition to rebuild recruitment’s core infrastructure and the speed at which customers are adopting Spott shows they have built the solution this market has been waiting for.”
Phil Chambers, Partner at Balderton Capital
“During our work with recruitment businesses, we saw firms under intense pressure to cut costs and make more placements, while their recruiters lost hours moving information between outdated systems. Recruitment succeeds through trust and human judgement. Spott gives agencies control of their data and puts AI to work around their recruiters, freeing them to deepen relationships with candidates and clients.”
Lander Degreve, Co-Founder and CEO of Spott
