Squire Patton Boggs added F. Reid Avett as a partner in its global Corporate Practice in Washington, D.C. Avett joins the firm from Womble Bond Dickinson.
Avett advises public and private companies, boards, and management teams on capital markets transactions, securities regulation, corporate governance, shareholder matters, mergers and acquisitions, and stock exchange listing requirements.
He also has experience representing issuers and underwriters in capital markets offerings and advising public companies on disclosure, reporting, board oversight, and shareholder engagement.
Avett is a licensed CPA and began his career in the M&A group at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
His combination of accounting, financial, regulatory, and legal experience supports clients dealing with complex corporate transactions and governance issues.
The addition expands Squire Patton Boggs’ corporate capabilities in Washington and strengthens its capital markets and securities practice.
Avett earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and received both a B.S. in Business Administration and a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
