Squire Patton Boggs has added Oksana Lashko (pictured above) as a partner in its New York office and named her National Co-Chair of the firm’s Creditors’ Committee Practice, continuing the expansion of its global Restructuring & Insolvency Practice.
Lashko joins from Morrison Foerster and brings extensive experience representing creditors and other stakeholders in complex Chapter 11 cases, out-of-court restructurings and cross-border insolvency matters.
Her practice includes representing official and ad hoc creditors’ committees, secured and unsecured creditors, institutional lenders, bondholders, administrative agents, companies and other significant parties-in-interest.
Lashko advises clients across the full restructuring lifecycle, including liability management transactions, debtor-in-possession financing, exit financing, Section 363 asset sales, Chapter 11 plan negotiations and bankruptcy litigation.
Her experience with creditors’ committees is particularly relevant to her new leadership role at Squire Patton Boggs.
Over the course of her career, Lashko has advised official committees of unsecured creditors in several major Chapter 11 proceedings.
Those engagements have included the restructurings of Del Monte Foods, Saks Global, Accuride, Instant Brands, Briggs & Stratton and Ravn Air.
Squire Patton Boggs said Lashko’s addition strengthens its restructuring capabilities in New York while adding further depth to its ability to handle matters spanning multiple jurisdictions.
Her appointment as National Co-Chair of the Creditors’ Committee Practice also positions her to help lead and expand one of the firm’s important restructuring specialties.
Creditors’ committees can play a central role in Chapter 11 proceedings by representing the collective interests of unsecured creditors during negotiations over financing, asset sales, restructuring plans and distributions.
Lashko’s background across both in-court and out-of-court matters gives the firm additional experience advising creditors as companies pursue increasingly complex capital structure solutions.
Her arrival also strengthens Squire Patton Boggs’ capabilities around liability management transactions, an area that has become an increasingly significant component of sophisticated restructuring work.
The firm sees her experience as complementary to its broader global restructuring platform, particularly for matters requiring coordinated advice across jurisdictions and practice areas.
Lashko’s move is the latest in a series of senior hires within Squire Patton Boggs’ Restructuring & Insolvency Practice.
Over the past year, the firm added Katherine Catanese in New York.
Catanese joined from Foley & Lardner, where she served as Vice Chair of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring Practice.
Squire Patton Boggs also expanded its U.K. restructuring team with Chris Roberts in Manchester and Deborah Brown in Birmingham.
Roberts joined from DLA Piper, where he led the restructuring and insolvency team across North West England.
Brown also joined from DLA Piper, where she led the firm’s restructuring and insolvency team in the Midlands.
Together, the appointments reflect Squire Patton Boggs’ continued investment in expanding restructuring capabilities across major financial and commercial markets.
The firm’s Restructuring & Insolvency Practice now includes more than 130 lawyers operating across 36 offices in 15 countries.
That international footprint allows the group to advise creditors, companies, lenders and other stakeholders on matters where capital structures, assets and insolvency proceedings extend across multiple jurisdictions.
For Lashko, the global platform also provides an opportunity to expand the firm’s creditors’ committee practice while collaborating with lawyers across restructuring, finance, litigation and other related disciplines.
