Squire Patton Boggs has expanded its Real Estate Practice Group with the appointment of partners Rachel Kerr and James Eddowes in Birmingham. Both lawyers join the firm from Gowling WLG and bring extensive experience advising investors, developers, and private equity clients on significant real estate transactions.
The additions are expected to strengthen Squire Patton Boggs’ capabilities across commercial development, investment, and private equity real estate. The firm is continuing to expand its work on M&A and investment mandates involving high-value real estate assets, complex developments, and large-scale portfolio transactions.
Kerr has more than 16 years of experience advising UK investors and developers across a broad range of real estate sectors and asset classes. Her practice includes industrial and logistics properties, retail, offices, build-to-rent developments, hotels, and portfolio acquisitions.
Eddowes advises UK and U.S. institutional investors, private equity investors, and developers on real estate acquisitions, disposals, financings, and development projects. He has particular experience working on large-scale real estate portfolios spanning industrial properties, offices, student accommodation, hotels, and later-living assets.
The appointments also support the continued expansion of Squire Patton Boggs’ Birmingham office. The firm said the addition of Kerr and Eddowes enhances its ability to advise clients on increasingly complex transactions that require a combination of real estate, corporate, finance, and cross-border capabilities.
Their arrival comes as investors and developers continue to navigate changing market conditions across a range of property sectors. Squire Patton Boggs plans to leverage the partners’ transaction experience alongside its broader international platform to support clients pursuing acquisitions, investments, development projects, portfolio transactions, and other strategic real estate opportunities.
