
Squire Patton Boggs has appointed partner Abby Brown as Americas Chair of its Global Corporate Practice, expanding her leadership responsibilities across the firm’s corporate platform in the region.
Brown most recently served as Corporate Deputy Practice Group Leader for Squire Patton Boggs’ Washington, D.C., office.
In her new role, she will lead a corporate team spanning 17 firm offices and work with practice leaders across Squire Patton Boggs’ global platform to support continued growth of the firm’s corporate business.
The firm’s Global Corporate Practice includes more than 400 attorneys worldwide.
Brown succeeds Cipriano “Cip” Beredo, who led the group for the past five years.
Brown brings more than two decades of experience advising public and private companies on mergers and acquisitions, securities transactions, corporate governance and other strategic corporate matters.
She serves as primary outside securities compliance, M&A and governance counsel to a range of public companies, including Fortune 500 businesses and smaller high-growth companies.
Brown has completed more than 200 public and private company mergers and acquisitions across both the buy-side and sell-side.
Her experience also includes advising corporate boards of directors and serving as corporate secretary for multiple public and privately held financial companies.
Brown has additionally served as acting general counsel to a publicly traded consulting firm.
As Americas Chair, Brown is expected to focus on strengthening collaboration across the firm’s corporate practices, expanding capabilities and identifying additional opportunities to serve clients across industries and geographic markets.
Squire Patton Boggs’ Global Corporate Practice includes approximately 400 lawyers across more than 40 offices worldwide.
The team advises clients across a broad range of corporate matters and serves Fortune 100 companies, multinational businesses, emerging companies, financial institutions, private equity firms, management teams and institutional and other investors.
