The move strengthens the firm’s capabilities in high-stakes intellectual property disputes and further enhances its platform in the life sciences and technology sectors.
Deka brings more than 2 decades of experience representing multinational clients in complex patent litigation. His background spans pharmaceuticals, medical devices, semiconductors, optical networking, telecommunications, cybersecurity, hard disk drives, and advanced imaging technologies, reflecting a wide range of high-technology and life sciences work. In addition to his courtroom experience, he has handled matters involving trade secrets, antitrust issues, and royalty disputes and has led Inter Partes Review proceedings before the US Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
With a physics degree and longstanding registration as a patent attorney, Deka has developed a reputation for handling technically sophisticated disputes. His arrival is aligned with Squire Patton Boggs’ expansion strategy in the intellectual property and life sciences arenas, particularly in key innovation-driven markets such as San Francisco.
Deka earned his JD from Temple University School of Law and his BS from Tulane University.
